For such an awesome thing, that came out of nowhere. Nice job, really well polished!sammyrye wrote:
Just messing around, overgrowth is way too much fun.
Mute the video, theres no audio besides some strange buzzing noise.

Re: Project Showoff
thanks- it's just an OBJ import from models-resource.com called "peach's castle", came all textured and ready to go (it was ripped from Mario by Alec Pike, If I remember right).Jacktheawesome wrote:For such an awesome thing, that came out of nowhere. Nice job, really well polished!sammyrye wrote:

The textures are REALLY low res, I tried to bake some lighting with Blender, but I couldn't find a way to re-UV the model and still keep the current texture.
It's still pretty fun to have an epic fight on the roof of the castle, though!

Updated my arena mod!
In this mod you fight increasingly difficult waves in an arena. You gain full health after every wave.
To play, load a level called "arenamode.xml". If you die and don't want to restart press R and you will start at the beginning of the wave.
Download! (a165)
Extract and merge the Data folder with your Overgrowth/Data folder.

Re: Project Showoff
Updated my hammer with support for the throw kills. I could spend all day throwing weapons at enemies, it's just so much fun.
EDIT: Oops, helps if I include the weapon, huh?

Re: Project Showoff
So Sed requested someone make a paper plane for OG, given the new throwing mechanics.
I obliged. It's not very high quality, but I think it's pretty amusing to throw around, and it can cause some pretty nasty papercuts.
As usual, extract the contents of this file to your /Overgrowth/ directory. Data/Custom/Tonjevic/paperdart.xml is the file you're looking for.

Re: Project Showoff
Maybe when they add spears, this could use that. This could make for some amusing videos.
Sweet! Too bad it has to be updated each week, or it could be added to the MMM (Main Menu Mod).ZramuliZ wrote:Updated my arena mod!

adwuga: there is already a working spear in the game.adwuga wrote:Maybe when they add spears, this could use that. This could make for some amusing videos.

I think he's talking about throwing spears.Saedz wrote:adwuga: there is already a working spear in the game.
Re: Project Showoff
You can throw them. It's really fun too. They don't have a proper trajectory or angle for a throwing spear though.
Re: Project Showoff
Yeah, I meant when they make proper throws for spears, I guess I was unclear.Korban3 wrote:You can throw them. It's really fun too. They don't have a proper trajectory or angle for a throwing spear though.
Re: Project Showoff
There is no guessing involved.
Re: Project Showoff
So after about 15 billion times failing, and other crazy weirdness... I finally finished posting a video of ZramuliZ' arena mod. Check it out. It's my first time commentating on a video in real time, so I lose my train of thought pretty often... sorry about that... I also haven't figured out the best way to mix the sound in real time, so this is pretty rough.
Also, this morning I recorded about 30 minutes of split screen multiplayer combat, with throwing weapons (including some discs!). I'm hoping that by foreshadowing a bit, it will make inspire me to edit the video down soon, and upload it for you...
Let me know what you think of the arena video!
EDITED: Youtube sucks, and it broke my 1080p resolution upload... updated with a new link above... but only 720p
