Receiver Russian Roulette

Post by Coincidence » Mon Sep 03, 2012 4:51 am

Now that Receiver has a revolver with a spinnable cylinder, I think it's about time we engaged with a little self-loathing in the virtual world. I want to play Russian Roulette, however doing so in the real world poses the problem that I can only lose once. But in the wonderful world of video games I can have a faceless, voiceless non-entity lose on my behalf while I control his or her or its every action. So let us pay Receiver Russian Roulette.

Take the Model 10 and load in one bullet. Close and spin the cylinder by flicking on the scroll wheel on the mouse once only then lower the gun with q then pull the trigger. Repeat until you are dead.

Post how many tries it took you to die in this thread. Bonus points if you can drag out your post with something either informative or philosophical.

I had to go to the humble store. Before, he just edited his original post with the details and link, so I never bothered checking the rest of the comments.

Edit: And unless they link the post on twitter, I don't visit the blog.

I updated the first page of the Receiver downloads thread, so the first page has RC6 now.

Information: Did you know that Russian Roulette is very boring if played by yourself? Also, you can only lose! No fun at all.

Therefore: Why not play with a turret friend!

Shadowfury, you had the gun set to automatic. You were destined to lose.

I'm pretty sure shooting oneself in the foot is a bug. It first happened to me while I was trying to knock out killdrones from a ledge, which was a fairly annoying death.

It's actually not a bug... The bullets have ricochet physics, and so you probably aren't shooting yourself in the foot, but instead the bullet is bouncing back up at you.

Oooooooooooohhhh! That makes sense.

I'm suddenly interested as to whether that might happen in real life... but I'm not willing to test it to find out.
