Is there bullet drop in Receiver?

Post by FlyingShisno » Tue Sep 04, 2012 1:12 am

I'm having a hard time noticing if there is. Sometimes I can shoot down a drone from quite a distance, without having to aim up. Sometimes I can't hit it at all, despite doing the same thing at roughly the same distance. Though I may be hitting the "invulnerable" parts, it's hard to tell from that far.

Also, did they change the hit boxes on the turrets? Before RC6, I couldn't hit their motors even when I tried. It was always the battery I ended up hitting, no matter what side I shot from. Now though, I can specifically aim at either the motor or battery, and hit the right one 75% of the time.

One last thing, I promise. On the turret, which part is the 'ammo feeder'? I've hit it a couple of times by complete accident, but those times they were in a position I couldn't get to so I could check. I'm guessing it's either that teal part towards the front, or that orange part in the back.

I think there is bullet drop, but I'm not sure.
I don't think he modified the hit boxes. There is now a percentage based chance that non-vital hits will disable the kill drones.
I think it's the orange one, but I'm not entirely sure there.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time telling too. If there is, then it's really small.

Yeah, that's probably it. With it, I've noticed that Drones are way easier to kill now.

The orange part is the counterbalance, all of the gun mechanics are in the green portion on the front. (i.e. if you shoot the orange part, it won't disable the gun).

And there is definitely some bullet drop, David talks about it in the first Receiver video.

Counterbalance? Damn, David knows where to put the detail in his games.

Oh, I had noticed the tazerbots seemed a little bit different.

I had managed to remove one from the air, but when I walked up to it, it beeped and tazered me.

Damn David for being so awesome.
