Oculus Rift support for receiver?
i was looking around at the wiki for supported games for the oculus rift (for those of you who dont know:http://www.oculusvr.com/)
in the wiki i saw receiver was one of the planned games to support the oculus rift(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oculus_Rift) any updates?

Re: Oculus Rift support for receiver?
I believe Oculus Rift has just started shipping its developer versions, and Wolfire will be receiving one of those. It will probably take some time after that for them to update it (also for Unity to add support). My guess is you won't see much progress on this for a little while.
Re: Oculus Rift support for receiver?
Oh my word.
If this happens, it will be Grandissimo. Fantasterous. Magnanimificent.
It would also potentially lead to some severe schizophrenia what with the "If your are receiving this in a fictional context, you are at a level that we cannot reach" line.
How delightfully dangerous.

Re: Oculus Rift support for receiver?
once receiver gets supported im gonna buy the dev kit just for the awesomeness, the funny thing is that the dev kit comes in pieces so i will have to build the whole thing myself, gonna sit there and feel like a kid playing with lego

But is no one else excited/worried about the severe psychological confusion a fully Oculus Rift-integrated Receiver could cause?
I mean wow, guys.
Edit for correct hyphen placement. I am such a grammar nazi sometimes.

Re: Oculus Rift support for receiver?
We are already receiving the message in a fictional context. But I agree, too much immersion would freak the hell out of me.
Re: Oculus Rift support for receiver?
Now that I think of it, shit that would be scary.
'Tis only an advantage!

Every time I hear that music, I become paranoid, and I'm already pretty insane(I have occasional hallucinations, I talk to myself, etc.) , so I think I'll probably buy a gun and start shooting at random beeping noises if this happens.Glabbit wrote: But is no one else excited/worried about the severe psychological confusion a fully Oculus Rift-integrated Receiver could cause?

I'm so excited.

Re: Oculus Rift support for receiver?
I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know what the priority for adding rift support to receiver? I feel it would give the dev team an opportunity to mess with VR, and honestly this game is so close to perfect already, with it's minimalistic hud.
The other question, that I have, is if they have considered using the hydra controllers for VR mode?
I am getting my oculus rift in about a week, and I'm looking forward to entering Receiver.

I have no understanding as to how this will work, will you aim with your face? Since mine is constantly shaking and bouncing about when I'm playing this due to the massive amount of heart attacks I'm enduring. I probably won't be able to see or hit anything.

Pretty much. The Oculus Rift tracks the orientation of your head.TehEpic wrote:I have no understanding as to how this will work, will you aim with your face?
