So. A week or so ago I purchased Receiver on Steam because it was on sale. Thought it would be cool to try out. I was originally on Ubuntu 12.04, and decided to try playing Receiver even though the minimum requirements stated that Ubuntu 12.10 was needed.
The game starts up fine, but when I am actually in game, the graphics are all messed up (See Pictures Below). So, I thought that upgrading to 12.10 would fix this problem, but I was sadly mistaken. I am experiencing the same problems.
NOTE: I have no problem playing other games. ex. Killing Floor, Minecraft, or Urban Terror.
Has anyone experienced and/or solved this problem? Any hits or tips are appreciated, thanks!

Re: Graphical Problems On Ubuntu 12.10
Have you tried using an Nvidia driver? Open source drivers don't run games well on Linux.
Re: Graphical Problems On Ubuntu 12.10
Have you tried validating files or reinstalling? I assume you have but it's always worth a shot.

Yeah I have the same or similar trouble. Everything is blocky and covered by a grid of dots. I have an ATI card and was using the open source drivers at first. I thought updating to the ATI proprietary drivers might fix it but it actually made it worse....
