Working on a Mod

Post by seiseki » Mon Nov 26, 2012 5:52 am

I'm trying to address various problem areas within the game, and also improve on some aspects.

Changes
- Decks corresponding with dungeon color.
- Decks being labled with numbers.
- Decks have more duplicates.
- Changed the player mats.
- Added limbo pile slot.
- Brightening the deck backs.

Working on
- Vertical layout for dungeon decks (easier to put cards on bottom)
- Changing the board
- Changing the font, adjusting positioning of text meshes
- New game length condition, killing one of 3 (new) bosses in hell ends the game.
- Add more coins.
- Add new cards.
- Re-balancing some of the card combos.

Here's a WIP Screenshot.

I'm not familiar enough with unity though, so most time is spent learning, cursing and scratching my head wondering why something refuses to work..

Very nice I like most of the changes but the new text looks pretty hard to read. It looks really good and some of these changes the the deck orientation will save a lot of time.

Yeah, the text is very much a work in progress. I strive to make it very clear to read.

Also, for the new cards I'm gonna aim to give players more choices.
Each card will have some unique mechanic players can use to their advantage.
Like the Arena which allows you to fight another player directly.

Would be nice to see this and Vonkie's mod to be combined Because this looks more polished than the original.

Wow! the new game mats look great!
I really like that you changed the colors of the decks to match the board as well.

I didn't like the numbers on the decks, and the boarder around all the tiles seems too thick.

Yeah, this is looking really good. One thing I would like to request if possible: there's apparently a fifth player piece in the files of the game, could that be spawned at the start as well? I'm not asking for five players, just the extra piece.

And yeah, the tiles are a bit too small, I feel, with those borders around them. It'd probably make fitting the text easier if they were a tad larger.

I saw that mod, that's how I knew there was a fifth piece. I don't want all that extra junk around the board, though.

Seiseki, is it possible for you to pack up the textures as they are, for download? I'm pretty sure the normal font will work just fine with this (I'm not too big a fan of the Gothic font going on), and re-positioning the cards can be done at the start of a game.

I can post the playing mats for anyone to use, but I'll post the board when it's done, because it's very WIP at the moment.

Well, now with the updates to Vonkies mod, individual parts should be usable without needing to mess with the actual game files, so I say post what you can as it gets done. But this is your mod, so do what you like.

Any possibility to get this working with Vonkies mod? I really like the new look of this mod.
