A cave is hard, because you have to model both the interior and the exterior, and caves tend to be in mountains. Overgrowth's terrain doesn't allow for overhangs or such, all things like that have to be built with models.RealoFoxtrot wrote:well, have been looking though these and thinking wow.
got my own piece to contribute, also wondering if it is possible to recreate this scene using the building blocks in OG. would be interesting.
However, in your scene, the front area it looks like it's just a stone "wall" with a hole through it. That's much easier to do, since you only need one piece to cap off the hole in the wall. The cave seen in the background would be hard to do, though.
There is no water yet, but it isnt that hard to add in. However, because it hasn't been done yet, you'd need both the art assets (images of flowing water) and the shader that would use it. So water is not possible yet, but will probably be modded in, or perhaps it will even appear officially.
There are different monoliths, but there might not be any spikes yet. They'd be relatively easy to add in, if they don't exist.
It's also possible to define your own sky and ground textures, and create new ground topography from a heightmap, so you could have custom levels. I don't think any modders have brought custom heighmaps into the engine in a while though, so it might be hard finding someone who has the know-how to do it.
So much of that level is doable
