I'm not impressed by your anatomy or the detail in the characters or clothes, but your action poses are fantastic. Have you tried animating yet? If you haven't, you should try, you can PM me if you have trouble getting started. Poses like that, ACTIONS like that... You're already telling stories with your drawings, your characters are already alive, despite the fact that the drawings themselves are full of little mistakes. They are full of really nice, small details in the poses and actions. Do you have any non-Overgrowth drawings you could post on the other Art Thread? I'm really interested in seeing how you draw humans, since that's exactly what I've wanted to learn myself, but I didn't realize I could achieve that without being an all-around good drawer.

Haha. I think of Squirrels as the ultimate ninja/assassin race.

Squirrels would be epic... FLYING SQUIRRELS!!! They can glide between massacres, what would be better than that.

You're totally right about the poses Endo, they are definitely intense. I might end up PMing you about some animation info as well, I'm still only getting into digital art, but animation is something I have been interested in for a little bit now. Anyone to even shoot ideas off of would be nice.

Definitely keep at drawing Neo_Blaze, you already have talent for sure, with a little more practice and some more knowledge of anatomy those sketches could become a million times more crazy.

Indeed:) flying squirrel epicness.
Yeah, I've tried my hand at animation.. It doesn't love me. But I'm still trying. ... blender is silly. New and improved user interface is ok, but still. A bit intimidating.
As far as the anatomy, yeah I know. I can blame some on the fact that it was a cartoon-y character drawing, not going for realisticness, but yeah. I'm not superb at anatomy. As far as humans, this somewhat applies to them also. I tend to build the body based off personality, and however the hell I feel like drawing them, so not always anatomically correct... :p
But I will continue trying. :) Thank you for support.

The proportions on the sheep sculpt were great, but the drawing doesn't work quite that well. I like the exaggerated neck and the thin stomach/chest area, but the elbows should reach out further down. On humans, elbows reach almost to the hips.
Awesome man! A bit creepy but cool!
Thought about colors?

Hmm, nice grass. How did you do it? I don't think a custom brush could draw several colors at once... Motion Blur filter on pixelated colors?

The characters are a bit simplistic, but I don't think that matters as long as you can keep the look consistent. Since there's not much actual action going on, the rabbits would really benefit from having proper backgrounds - if you go back a few pages, you can see Aperson's rather nice paintings. Having your characters on backgrounds like that would be very nice. You can also learn a few things from them, like that a cloudless sky is light at the horizon and gets deeper and darker blue as you go higher.

I like the rabbits' heads, and the furry ears. I think these characters would look really awesome if they had more space around them. Even if you don't want to learn to paint landscapes, you could "reframe" themeasily enough. And the green shirt in the second image is really nice.

that's easy , go to the brush window in photoshop , tick color dynamics and mess with the settings and voila. Will look awesome if used correctly.

Thanks allot for the comment Endoperez! :D
Well the whole pic was made with: http://mypaint.intilinux.com/
These were my first drawings with the program so I kind of experimented (the tree, the cloud-background, the fur...)
There is a special tool for the grass easy as that! Download the program, its free and fun! I think its open source too... http://mypaint.intilinux.com/?page_id=6

I'll try in the next pic a nice looking background! Thanks for the comment! :D

Hey guys, I'm planning on at least giving the concept of the bear-race that was featured a while ago a go at becoming a real model. So I'm just asking right here if you have any cool ideas or concepts of any sort I'm willing to take those ideas and see what I can do with them.
Now since it's turning out to be summer I have time over for once to do some personal work! :p

Is there perhaps a kind of sickle that would look great? Do you have your own idea of a cool armour instead of the one that already is? I can even provide the .PSD-file if someone would like to make more iterations on the clothing. And so on.

Here is the concept again so you won't have to go back a trillion pages to find it.
Image

Thought it would be more fun if I could get some help with this rather than lurking about and doing it alone ^^
Also I'm curious what kind of polycount, textures and so on Rabbot has. I'm not good enough yet to give that a good guess so if anyone have the raw numbers that would be much appreciated.

P.S I have just completed a similiarly themed old blueprint I did when I was playing WoW on my Druid, so I'm eager to do some more stuff if possible. I don't play WoW any more but I thought it would be fun to finish it. You can look at it here.

:) It will be great to see the models in-game. I'd have liked to try my hand at the modeling myself, but I'm busy learning texturing ATM.

I think the sickles you have there would be great. A curve of some kind would be more interesting to me than the Asian pick-like, angled kama. The curving blade can be used to pull and control the enemy, like a huge claw extending from the hand. Something like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=k6UumBR7Fzc

Any way, real-world wooden armor existed but there aren't many pictures. Leather was much more common, but I found some mentions of wood also being used for parts of armor. Few examples from Japan, but mostly from North America.
There's not really much like the big plate you have in the front, but I think that it looks great, so it could stay. The sides and some other parts could have lighter armor made from leather of cotton or wooden rods or something similar.

Nice painting:

A museum with a nice collection, and some of the items pictured so you can turn them around.

Kendo practice armor is made from bamboo, and I found a video that shows how it's done (jump to 6 mins):

Oh, and the rabbit model comes as an .obj model with every alpha. I don't remember the polycount, but it's easy to check. I won't be able to do it until late sunday, so someone else can probably post the details before that.

Dude, you're awesome. Thanks for all the great images! Going to work on the basic blueprint of the naked model first but that's awesome inspiration to make the armour better, can't say I feel all that well about the current one but I think those new reference-images might spice things up a bit.

And lul, I just expected that their models would be packed, but if they're .OBJ then it's easy as cake to find out. Gonna have to download the game again and check it out then.
And I have something to check for scale as well, that's pretty sweet.

I guess having Turner getting attacked by a hoard of cat-sized (proportionally speaking) ants is out too then...I liked it better when I thought they were little, not getting hurt by tremendous falls made more sense that way. Oh well.
