Newcomer and a level editor suggestion :-)

Post by Jarllll » Sun Mar 13, 2011 10:18 am

Hi, I´m new to the forum and Overgrouth community.

First of all I would like to apologize for my english, I'm from Spain and my english is not very good, I'll try to do my best :-P

I would like to congratulate Wolfire team for their initiative in let the people, who pre order the game, to test every weekly alpha version. I allways like to see how a video game grows from scratch, and have the opportunity to interact with the development is great for me.

Well, after this introduction I would like to give some sugestions after been testing the editor for a while.

Maybe you allready have thought in those suggestions, in this case, sorry :-P The thing is that as a 3D Max user and after trying UDK I really miss in Overgrouth editor a gizmo when you move, rotate or scale an object. I think that it would be more intuitive and faster to use than the actual system. The gizmo in UDK is very useful and very fast when you use the spacebar to change from move to rotate to scale.

Another suggestion would be to add a toggable button to turn on and off the snap system what is very useful in UDK too.

An aling system to aling objects between them would be great too.

Well, those are my first suggestions, I know that allready left a lot of work to do and I hope that this kind of suggestions will be useful for you.

Cheers.

i think the snapping system isn't fully implemented yet, i would prefer a gizmo to move objects tho.
