I have an interesting Question concerning Overgrowth
_____________________________________________________________
Now, it's not exactly the most logical thing, but will overgrowth be mod friendly enough to kind of have an almost sandbox-like game? and remain having the awesome editor and what not?
Also, my main question, Is it possible to have human figures in the game, say if i had my own 3d model, and i just wanted to slap it into the game, would that work?
It's pretty exciting if Overgrowth ends up having a mod community like Jedi knights Academy or Half life 2.
Already this game looks incredible and Mod or not, is a spectacle.

Re: I have an interesting Question concerning Overgrowth
I don't see a mod where there are humans fighting each other to be too far-fetched, for example. One problem people seem to have is that it's rabbits fighting each other and that's "too furry" for many people.

This depends on what you mean by "sandbox". If Overgrowth will be like Lugaru, in that it will have small-to-medium maps in which the player fights a set of enemies, there will be little support for enormous seamless worlds á la Morrowind or Oblivion. Other than that, the scripts are open enough to allow for all kinds of extra complexity.ageshero wrote:Now, it's not exactly the most logical thing, but will overgrowth be mod friendly enough to kind of have an almost sandbox-like game? and remain having the awesome editor and what not?
Humans are relatively easy, but the existing animations might not work perfectly with humans. The feet especially could be troublesome. The Overgrowth animals stand on their toes, while a human would have his feet firmly planted to the ground. Some of Overgrowth's automated leg-to-ground matching might not work properly with heel-foot-toes stepping a human would make, but that's in an editable script so it can be changed or removed or remade, given enough work.

I don't think people really have a problem with that, to me it seems like they're just poking fun at it.Ozymandias wrote:I don't see a mod where there are humans fighting each other to be too far-fetched, for example.
