They should make the girl characters all civilians. Please don't look at this as sexest but it would save so much time having to make animations for them.

What? Why? Civilians need animations too. And you could say the same for all the rest of the animal races, except the female characters might require slight modifications on the male animations, while the other races will each require significant animation overhauls.

I think he was thinking because they wouldn't require attack animations, though I can't imagine they would have entirely unique animations anyway.

Then again there are people who find straight up animals attractive, so there's not really anything you can do about THAT. XD (Even more so, some girls may already find the current Turner model attractive. *shrug*)

Me, I used to read books like the 'Redwall' series (R.I.P. Brian Jacques) and loved the fact that there were males and females, because realistically, things gotta reproduce. That's life. XD I know they're already going to put females, and I think that's great. I also do hope that they have some form of boobs because it's a distinguishable characteristic, and from what I see of the community so far, we're mostly mature about this situation.

I think everything will be a-ok. :D
Brian Jacques died .

It appears you need to add an 'i' to that word.
Har har, you rogue!

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if David just adjusted the female animations procedurally. I mean, I honestly don't see it requiring separate animations. If it requires animations at all, maybe just some that are used for blending to change it enough.

Nothing really new to add, just that, like most of the people here, I do find it extremly annoying when games hypersexualise there content. Its deameaning, and can be quite frankly distracting :| .When every single female in the game has a low cut top and would knock herself out if she started running, thats annoying, and I feel it would degrade this game on some level.

However on the counter point I guess having regular boobs on the females is no real big thing (like in real life) but nor do I really think its super nessisary, there are others ways to suggest femininity (posutre, face structure, clothing, jewlery ect).

Yehhhh :(

Alright, so I think it's agreed then! We all think that it would be okay if they had boobs if they weren't basketballs, but if they choose to go away from that route, there are other ways to do it.

For now. This thread will be re-born. Someday.

But don't speak for everyone on the boobs ;) There is a good handful of us who are solidly against them all together, no matter what. But yeah, pretty much. This sort of things usually boils down to "Wolfire will do what they think best and we trust them."
Almost always boils down to that.

I've recently seen Guild Wars 2 footage and I have to say, it's everything I hate in female characters. They truly are appalling. Every single female character is a scantilly adorned slut in provocative clothing highlighting her double D's.

I wouldn't mind if it was done TASTEFULLY, but to be honest I think it would probably be best to go without just to avoid the conflict. (I personally find the COUNTLESS giant bouncy boob mods for Oblivion, Skyrim etc horribly distasteful and childish.)

And yes RIP Brian Jaques. I start Googling some of his books last week and think I'll have to read them all again. His characters were excellent and were certainly distinclty female without showing mammaries!

It's fine to dislike the addition of breasts in agame, but i also think it's an 'adult' approach if you as a player can be mati'm fine either way, but with breasts, i know wolfire will handle it tastefully. Without breasts, i know they'll handle it creatively. So as i said, and to re-state my last post: either decisin is fine. I can handle either decision as an adult and respect the decision they ultimately make. I just hope the rest of the community can do so as well. From what i've seen, it is indeed likely that we all can handle this maturely as a community.

Not the Charr (beastman race) though!

The rest doesn't seem to be very good, but I remember I liked that blog post when I read it before. I'm not sure if I linked to it earlier in this thread, but it seems relevant.

Charr = Bad Ass Race Design

Yeah, you've linked it before, but that sort of info gets buried in threads.

Please DO NOT waste time to build female bodies, make female voice, and female animation. Including female is just mortal and plain idea. This can not make the game more competitive, specialized, and distinct from many games in the current market, but instead, the words such as "sick", "perverted", "fetish", "SM" must be added to the future comments of this game.
Much like a FOX 'News' program, I find your post rude, condescending, and biased. If you're going to make a point, try to be more polite about it.

I doubt that the team is going to divert all of their resources into rendering boobs and making female animations. Even if they did, that would be their choice. The simple choice of having a character model that is obviously male, or obviously female has nothing to do with being sick, perverted, or having some sort of S&M fetish. Most of the community is more mature than that.

I wonder at times if having the community involved is a good thing. Would Halo fans have argued with the option to choose a female Spartan? Heck, maybe it would be just as easy to differentiate between gender in Overgrowth.
Lugaru didn't show the differences, and I had a hard time keeping male and female characters apart. You had to go by dialogue. If nothing else, it would help me keep track of who's who.
It may NOT be proper to add female characters in such intensive fighting game, which involved violence, maltreat, abusement, torture in high degree, and also with large chunks of purely red blood.

Even someones suggest to add the feature "Dismemberment" in this game. There will certainly be lots of players try to dismember the female body and post their game videos on the Youtube!

So whether adding female characters should depend on the type of game. For example, if adding female characters to the game "Super Mario", then it is perfectly fine. However, adding female to a game involving murder, blood splashing, assassination, and torment may ruin the game, and have people doubt the real purpose of the game.

P.S. Nowadays some people do not call "Tomb Raider" as a game, but instead, a porn!
Okay thats dumb girls are the same as guys just look slightly deffrent and the game is not all that violent if you want a violent game go check out l4d2 there is female zombies that you can beat up with a baseball bat to SURVIVE then blow a crowd of zombies up into red dust and in fallout you can Blow people Heads off and also in Gta you can beat up women.heck in san andreas you could kill them with chainsaws and all those games were not ruined they got very high scores so what im saying is that there has been other games thats gotten away with killing women and in overgrowth there just going to fight (maby not even that they may just be a type of civilians).
