Proposed website redesign

Post by KZeni » Mon May 29, 2006 7:55 pm

Due to boredom I have redesigned the wolfire website.
You can visit what I have come up with at http://www.kzeni.com/wolfire/

I am not aware if David will choose my redesign, but I am defiantly open to him using my design. I have redesigned the entire website, even the blog, so it matches the theme. I wouldn't be against making a theme for the forum to make it fit the theme of the website.

Post what you think of this and we'll see if David chooses to use the design I made. (i won't charge money for it if that's a worry)

lol "defiantly open" :P

well its very ... smooth, and I prefer your blog over the one up right now, but I don't like how the selected menu bar item has that little dent in it, because it looks like a rendering (?) problem.

Same thing happens when you hover, I'm pretty certain it's intentional.

While the current website is not the greatest and we are trying to find someone to redesign it (anyone have any leads?), I have to say that I prefer the original to this one. Yours has some good ideas though.

light text on a dark background is harder on the eyes than the traditional dark text on light background.

I think it's a good effort, and the folks here are being a little harsh. Just curious... was this done in iWeb?

Some of us on the Lugaru 2 team have been working on a new site design, dark text on an earth-tone background and a little more engaging in the navigation department.

Although Jeff's post above makes me think he does not like it...?

I dunno, I still prefer the original site.

yeah I agree. there is something about the uniformity here that bothers me more than the current site. The white on black is qutie hard to read for me. I definetly like your idea of going away from the traditional blog design.

I really like the current design, thought I realize it can be improved.
Still I prefer the current design over KZenis.

I liked the games page and the blog.
but not the gray button bar appering on mouseover,
and not the gray color wave under the button bar.
Well, I think you should get rid of anything gray, because
it just doesn't belong on a Wolfire page.
It should be only black, red and very little white, with black as main colour.

I meant you do not like the site we've been working on, in the Lugaru 2 dev forum. Is that what you're talking about?
