Cities?

Post by Xiao » Sun Jun 04, 2006 11:24 pm

Will cities and towns be featured in Lugaru 2? Wouldn't it be cool fighting your enemies as you jump from rooftop to rooftop, overlooking the city streets below? Not modern day cities of course, more like primitive, stone-based market streets-type stuff.

Yay or nay?

It's a nice thought.

Just more modern than a number of large slabs or rock on their sides, right? ;)

We are planning to have several cities and towns in Lugaru 2.

You rang?

Yes, I painted that, with a little help from my friend Max.

Dude that looks hella sick!
I thought Assassin's Creed would be the only game to have cool cities like this. But man, these cities look so much cooler than those. The whole environment looks real nice in the Lugaru setting. The fact that there are little rabbit farmers in the background makes this painting look even more convincing.

Those are nice clouds too (Man, I really want to see that water again). Are there going to volumetric clouds in Lugaru 2? Or will it stay as a dynamic skybox? Actually, I don't know what volumetric clouds are, I just thought they looked really cool in the Crisis tech demo.

Oh yeah, nice one Xiao! I don't think I've ever seen 4 pages of posting in one single day, much less in a couple of hours! That was great!

@Zantalos: That is concept art, not how the actual game looks at the moment, nor will it neccesarily look exactly like that. But yeah, the artwork is pretty darned good.

There is going to be volumetric smoke, fog, and mist and such. The clouds for the most part will be the system described in the blog, unless you climb a giant mountain, in which case, there may be volumetric clouds. No guarantees though.

Wow, looks great. I hope there are some more crowded cities though, with lots of alleyways and civilians.
