how the humans died
Here's my take on things: If Jeff isn't just pulling our collective legs then here is my suggestion on what happened:
After the apocalypse and humanity dies out, this leaves the field for the dominant speices of the Earth open. Diffirent speices evolve from primitive form to take on the role, such as getting larger and more complex brains, there legs change becoming effective arched supports.
In the wolves and other carnivores case they simply used there claws and teeth to hunt and fight, never needing to pick up a weapon to defend themselves because naturaly they already have there own. But in the Rabbits and other former rodents cases they don't have natural weapons such as claws to defend themselves with, thus they picked up sticks and stones, and like humanity before them, was ultimatly set on the path to technological advancment.
This would explain why we never see a wolf in Lugaru with a weapon, and why there culture is still a pack with an Alpha Wolf as apposed to the Rabbits who have a monarchy. In other words an entire nation, however small or large it is. They also developed a martial arts style to defend themselves in case they can't find or don't have a weapon. You see in Lugaru that the wolf punch is a simple slash down, using the claw as the main weapon, but with the rabbit punch (heavy and light) you see a much more focused punch using the fist to either sock you in the face or knock you down with a heavy double shot to the chest.
Now I'm probably wrong, but then I might be right
Or Jeff is just kidding.

Good boy, David. Jeff spoiled a tad too much this time, eh? o.0
To a dude who had to tell the rest o.0
And now you're trying to hide it again, eh? ;D
Just kidding, just kidding. I believe you <_<
BUT! This really helped me develop some (unmentioned) ideas for a mod I'm planning in the back of my head. Based on another project of mine. So I realy hope this game will be super-moddable, cause it's a pretty advanced idea, and still in the earliest stages o.0
Which I probably would need a team for -_-;;
Thanks
