I'm inclined to agree with him as well; TDM and CTF are excellent ideas ... but how would people fight over the flag? In Halo, you either drop it yourself or by being killed; would the flag get dropped after you're killed, or if someone counters your move, or what?

Lol. That would be cool, the person the the flag throws a spin kick, the opponent ducks under the leg, grabs it with one arm and the flag with the other, then kicks the person the flag away. Flag Disarm! 1000 Points!

not if it's like in Tribes 2 where on your armor (in this case a little thing you wear on your shoulders) holds the flag on your back like a backpack sort of. Would be harder to disarm them, and they would sitill be able to fight back (without using the flag as a weapon) but might throw them off balance.

What I'd like to see in CTF modes is when the flag is dropped a teammate can go over, pick it up, and run it back to base (rather than it instantly rapperaring at base once a teammate touches it)

That wouldn't be so great, because it could be something like 2 campers on your team and you're the only rusher, so they take your flag and get it 3/4 of the way back... you manage to kill one, then touch the flag, but the other kills you and just takes the flag again. No skill!

I guess you're right, maybe just have it so you have to touch the flag for a small amount of time? Cause I've played games where we are about to capture the flag and the flag bearer dies, and right as another teammate is about to pick the flag up a guy from the opposing team comes out of the shadows, touches it, and poof. Kinda stupid.

Yeah, the flag should have to be carried the whole time. Makes things more interesting. It's not just like Touch and POOF! the flag magically returns. It requires less skill.

Also...

I want to use the flag as a weapon, totally jam it into somebody's back. That would be rad.
No wait, I want to sweep someone's leg out with the flag while I run by, THAT would be rad.

As a help to the defenders (because they have the most important, hardest, and boring job), they should be able to throw it back to the stand, rather than how the attackers have to hand deliver it. OR not, everyone one should be able to throw the flag then. It was pretty cool in Farcry.

I think CTF would be difficult is your opponents could jump 60 feet over you.

Okay, let's keep this guy away from any foreign embassies, just to be safe.

Good point, actually, but there would be ways around that. I'm just not smart enough to think of them right now.

well i can think of a way to counter that. it may be suicidal but i am really good at it. jump up as he is jumping and you will both take damage and Go Flying back! Well that may work in L1 Platform, but it works!

Or make the flage heavy, or act like a sail so you go much slower...
