I never said it was the most original story...
Wait, did the Planet of the Apes ended like that?
Man, i would be unoriginal, then.

If you want to play as humans then there are plenty of other games you can play.

I mean, plenty of others.

Like, heaps more games.

Go on. Take a look. There are so many of them.

Sounds like "GTFO if you do not like it"... but this attitude is never good.

I don't even like humans. Too many games have humans in them. And no, an alien who looks exactly like a human is still counts as a human.

I don't understand the hostility toward human characters. Wolfire won't be implementing them and we all know that. So that leaves mods. Mods won't take away bunny boxing, and they'll grant humans to people who want to play humans. I don't see a problem here.

People pushing for humans is probably thought of as hostility towards Overgrowth, since the anthropomorphic theme is such a big part of the visuals.

I'd love decent quality human characters (modded, of course) with more human-like controls for two reasons:
Overgrowth has the best striking oriented combat I have ever played.
Overgrowth has some of the best movement controls I have ever played.

This combined could make for epic Parkour machinimas and fighting mods.
I would love to play a Muay Thai fighter competing in the Lumpinee Stadium with the combat mechanics of Overgrowth. XD

Of course, just getting the visuals right would not be enough. The controls would have to be altered to make humans play different from the official Overgrowth characters.

Like I said, that would have to be achieved y the community. Overgrowth is about anthropomorphic animals and not about humans. But the great thing about mods is that they are not restricted by that.

I think there are way too many games with humans in them. There are rarely ANY games at all like overgrowth where you are an animal. Most of the animal (anthropomorphic or not) games I've seen aren't good (like wolfquest for example). You can probably find a lot of other games similar to overgrowth but with humans instead. I don't mean to be rude but Overgrowth wasn't designed to have humans in it.

Um... yeah, it's pretty integral considering almost all of the cultural storyline and a large part of the movement and level design is based on it.

We play as humans in a lot of games, it gets boring after a while.

I never understood that. Sure humans are great and all, but don't people get sick and tired of them like I do?
I mean, you see them the entire time your awake.
And they're in your dreams.
And your TV.
And your games.
I'd just expect more entertainment media to put on emphasis on non-human characters than we have. Sure you've got Mass Effect and its aliens and then some TV, but I'd love to see just a sprinkling of variety show up.

Being an animal is one of the reasons i bought the game. if i wanted to be a free-runing human i would just go oustide try to climb a wall and break my neck
