Why boomerangs wouldn't hurt? They are really deadly

That depends. There's boomerangs that kill, and boomerangs that return. They don't have that much in common, in real life, besides the name. That doesn't mean game boomerangs can't have the best of both, as long as it's interesting and balanced.
