This question has probably been asked plenty of times before. But will you guys put the game on steam and would it be possible to make it available to pre order and play the alpha that way?

If it was on there i would have probably already pre ordered but to be honest i hate having games here and there if i dont own a physical copy of a game so i prefer to have them all on steam :P

Yes, it will come out on steam when it's released, however there are no alphas on steam so feel free to preorder but until the full game you won't be able to play it from steam.

Well itS not officially on steam yet, you can just add it to your library.

Overgrowth won't show up on Steam on its own, until it's officially added to the Steam store. This hasn't happened yet.

However, you can add programs you have already installed into Steam. This doesn't do that much, there will be no achievements or other Steam-specific things, but it does mean you can launch the program from Steam's list of games.

To add Overgrowth into your steam games list you have to open up games menu then select Add a non-steam game to my library. Then you can either browse the Overgrowth .exe or you can find it in the menu. Then select it and press Add selected programs.
The Steam overlay is also working with current alpha version of Overgrowth.

No the alpha is already downloadable through secret preorder forum and i believe though Humble Bundle store. Also the alpha will be, at some point, available on Steam to.

I believe they don't need to go GreenLight first at least based on the tweets that David has posted on he's twitter wall.

There are many more links and tweets, but i think you get my point.

Why couldn't it be on the early access?
