Oh, right, jokes. Entertaining. I guess.

Alright kidding, I suppose I didn't want to make another 'giggle' post, so I said it as if you replied seriously.

And the first person to go into these hearing effects was Ninjas. I actually think his one would be better than just switching to some kind of radar vision. That just sounds wierd, I think I'd rather just be blind or carry a torch instead.
Ninjas wrote:How about when Turner smells something alarming, he sniffs at the air and his ears perk up, and when he smells something pleasing, he sniffs at the air and his ears relax. That would work, and not be too goofy. Maybe the rate at which he sniffs could be like a hot/cold game?
And the picture in a picture thing was also suggested by Ninjas, the Lugaru 2 main art designer.

the point is hearing not sense of smell,
also It was an idea for replacing enemy detection , to have an ingame way of finding them rather than them appearing on a minimap.

Down with the minimap, I say, on all difficulty settings.
I like these ideas.

Yes Indeed , down with the minimap !
Infact down with cumbersome/Distracting interfaces ! I mean thats one of the greatest charms of Lugaru 1 in my humble opinion.

I think this was mentioned before..

but what if instead of all that radar stuff... you push the button and your guy stops and listens... and his ears hear stuff far away in the direction he';s facing... sort of like those microphone things (can't think of the name) or something???

Yeah, but you can hear as you're walking, and the one direction thing doesn't make any sense at all.
It'd work if no one wanted any realism, I guess.

The reason i suggested stopping to listen is because while your active you can't really focu on where things are coming from but if he's stopping and focusing on just hearing he can use those big ol ears of his to pinpoint where sounds are coming from , thus "seeing" the soundwaves and where they are coming from.

For instance Turner stops at a T junction corridor, he uses his hearing skill and from the right, you as the player see jagged red waves traveling down the corridor, and the the left you don't see anything,
thus from this you can deduce that the left has nothing going on or no one is moving so either it's very safe or there is NINJA-DEATH bunnies waiting for you.

But from the right at least you know what you are up against and could prepare for anything.

Or on elimination missions you know going left is a utter waste of your time.

col even if it was just open flat ground you could still use it, It's for detecting things over a distance.
