regarding the terrain LOD blog update...

just curious about how it works. from what I understand it keeps the detail on distant terrain to a minimum until you get close... now is it going to be a gradual fading of terrain or is it like a straight line that seperates the detail? for example, have you ever played The Elder Scrolls Oblivion? it employs the same technique, but you can see where the high res detail ends and the low res begins, it's like an invisible detail wall seperates the two. will lugaru 2 be like this or is it a more graceful fade?

Yeah, please post the algorithm while you're at it so that I can use it (kidding).

I'm implementing terrain LoD at the time and my approach doesn't work that well :roll:
