Graphics compatability.

Post by ChocolateFunda » Fri Aug 10, 2012 4:53 pm

Are there any plans to support older graphics cards? I pre-ordered Overgrowth having read that Intel graphic cards would be able to run the game albeit at a lesser quality.

Apparently, the graphics card I have (intel Mobile 945) doesn't support shading and the game issues a statement to that effect before exiting without running.

Any reply would be helpful in order to get my (not so) little boy off my back!

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you've done your homework before posting :).

The game will most likely not run on the specified GPU. However, it's not uncommon for laptops (which I assume is what you're using) to have two GPUs. It would be helpful if you could post which brand and model you plan on playing Overgrowth on, so we'll be able to look at the complete specs.

Thank you for your response. I haven't been able to find any other graphics card but then I am not that technically adept.
Our machine is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 1818 which is unmodified except for added memory.

Again, thanks in advance

Is there a chance of us getting our money back until the fall back shader is introduced?

If you email [email protected] and include your transaction ID from your payment provider (so they can find your purchase), the team can offer you a refund, and then you can buy the game at a later date if you choose.

Most likely, updates to support lower quality graphics cards will happen as the game moves into an optimization phase. Be sure to check back on the blog, or watch the videos to hear when they start making those changes.
