To Admins. From Russia

Post by MSTrus » Wed Aug 22, 2012 4:11 am

Dear Developers.
Thank you for your hard work.
My name is Ilya Vikulov and I live in Russia.
I really like Lugaru and Overgrowth. I don't have any problems with understanding English. But some of Russian players do.
So, there is one thing I want to propose to you. I want to add official Russian translation to Overgrowth. It will raise amount of players and their loyalty.
If you are interested in it or if you require more information, please contact me.
I appreciate any feedback.

All the best, Ilya (MSTrus)

There isn't that much text in the game at the moment. However, you could perhaps translate important parts of the Overgrowth wiki.

http://wiki.wolfire.com/index.php/Portal:Overgrowth

Things like "how to play", "how to make custom maps", "how to import custom 3D models" etc would be quite useful.

I am not interested in translation of Wiki because there is already a lot of Russian tutorials about the game.

Well, what is there in the game that you can translate, right now? I don't think there's anything at the moment.

What about providing Russian subtitles for the Alpha presentation videos? Or, if you're handy with image manipulation, the webcomic?

I'm sure he wants the game and everything in the game translated, not the wiki.

There are menus in the game's map editor, as well as the level end screen/window/popup, that could be translated to russian. Wasn't there a forum for translating things a while back?

It shouldn't be at all difficult to translate the texts in the map editor to Russian for somebody who knows both languages. There's not a ton of text even with the map editor.

Yes. I agree with you. There is not a lot of text right now. But there is some items, maps, menus. And later, there will be much more. So it better to start earlier.

And I think admins didn't notice this topic.

Admins didn't, that's true. There's perhaps one admin that actually has anything to do with the Wolfire company, though. Others are just people who spend a lot of time here.
