Wolfire looking at doing another Game Jam?

Post by Macrauchenia » Sat Nov 03, 2012 9:52 pm

Just saw that David posted this:

Should we make a new 7-day game for http://www.fuckthisjam.com/?
https://twitter.com/Wolfire/status/264877537501528064

I'd LOVE to see them do another game jam. This jam sounds especially interesting as well, I can see some really unique games coming out of it.

I hope they stream the development of this one as well, watching David and Aubrey make Receiver was incredible.

I wonder what kind of game David would hate?
JRPGs?

This has to be done. Any chance that is presented to Wolfire, that involves making something new, should always and I mean ALWAYS be taken advantage of.

Do it, Wolfire. No questions asked.

(I apologize for the forceful tone)

Aubrey and I are starting on a game for F This Jam -- our genre is the roll-and-move board game, like Monopoly or Snakes & Ladders.

Wolfire is making a roll-and-move board game? I'm so confused and excited at the same time.

I've been watching both streams on and off today, everything looks fantastic! The amount of progress both David and Aubrey have made in the past 2 days is incredible. I'm calling it right now, whatever game this ends up being, it will be just as good, if not better than Receiver.

Here's the build David just linked in the chat (I hope it's cool to post that here):

I've never had so much fun rolling dice in my life!

Well, multiplayer works! (sort of, my Brother and I are both connected to the server though)

This is especially exciting because of what David wrote in the original blog post: "This will help me become more familiar with netcode to evaluate multiplayer options for Overgrowth"

This art only further confuses and terrifies me. It's pretty gruesome stuff. GO AUBREY AND DAVID!

Other players can now pick up the dice, and you can pick up 2 at a time. The game is really coming along! Great work David and Aubrey!

Anton also popped in the chat, he'll be composing the music this around as well. (He posted a sampler .mp3; it sounded great, matched perfectly with Aubrey's artwork imo.)

My favorite quote from Aubrey's stream today:

wolfireaubrey: I think I am going to leave these guys with these bags on their heads

» this is what they do for fun on the weekends

korban3: Weekend Warriors, you could say?

» Bwahahaha

Broadcaster wolfireaubrey: hehe

korban3: Anyways, that's some gruesome stuff. What killed them? That big ass worm unicorn thing?

» The skeletree?

Broadcaster wolfireaubrey: no, that one dude cut the other in half

korban3: Jesus christ.

» Ripped much
