Overgrowth Trade

Post by telltalegamer132 » Sun Jan 13, 2013 2:10 pm

Hi Ninja-Rabbit fans! Basically, I want Overgrowth (who doesn't?) but I do not have $30 to spare. I love indie devs including Wolfire and I and to support them by not using a torrent. That being said, I buy a lot of Humble Bundles and Indie Royals and have a fair amount of steam keys I don't need. If one of you fans could take pity on me and trade one of these steam games (or a couple, if you wish), for a copy of Overgrowth (with updates), that would be amazing:
Crayon Physics Deluxe - $20
Machinarium - $10
Cogs - $10
The Binding of Issac (plus Wrath of the Lamb DLC) - $8
Shank 2 - $10
Cave Story+ - $10
Indie Game the Movie - $10
Pineapple Smash Crew - $10
Spirits - $10
(I also have a couple Dungeon Defender keys, but they are on a different account and would be kind of a hassle to get, so if at all possible, choose something else.)
My steam is telltalegamer132, please friend me if you want to take me up on an offer.
Thanks- TTG

How the hell did you buy all those games if you don't even have 30 bucks?

He got them from Humble Bundles and now he's trying to cash out on extremely cheap stuff. It's commonly seen in the TF2 scene when trading items and is considered a pretty underhanded move.

How is it underhanded? It's perfectly fair! If you trade, you walk away with $10-$50 of Steam loot, and I get access to a $30 unfinished game! It's practicably giving you games! If you search the forums tons of other people do it, so why not me?

frankly most people on this forum have the bundles and the keys, just so you know.

it does seem a wee bit dishonorable when i think of how little you probably paid for the bundle games and how much you are cashing em out for.

you can try but i am unsure of any people here who are willing to trade off their overgrowth key/pre-order account.

mow some lawns buddy, you can do it!

If something appears in an indie-bundle, It's price reduces, Dont try to trick people into thinking they are getting a good offer when they arnt.

Hmm.... yes. Seeing those prices and thinking that you probably had to pay at least a dollar for a bundle to get Steam keys, then i believe you are asking to much for those games.
And here is a good way to make some money.
Help your neighbors by shoveling their snow for good money.

some more ideas:

go around recycling (don't know if that is a California thing though). Dumpster Diving may seem a bit low but i've made a 100$ on a good day of looting peoples soda cans/empty bottles

a garage sale - surely you have some shit that you don't need

selling your old school books on amazon - my lady friend so far made 60 dollars last week alone selling her books from last semester

offering a dog walking service - just don't look like a creep!

offering to pick up dog shits - eww

repainting address labels on curbs!

etc

get creative! 30$ isn't a lot of cheddar in the grand scheme of things. i hear all the time about "how expensive" overgrowth is, and it always seems to confuse me when i see console releases being sold for 60  .

1. Its not really a thing where I live
2. Too much effort
3. Can't find any of them
4. Nobody really seems to take those up where I live
5. Theres not a whole lot of crap to pick up, sadly
6. Don't have any paint

Sorry to reject all of your ideas, its just that I considered pretty much everything (there might be a few more things but not much) and this was sort of my last resort. :( Well damn, I thought this would really work. I mean, who doesn't want a crapload of steam games? Apparently not you guys.

that's just it dude, we all do. and most of us already have them...

this is where HIB pretty much started out man.

You don't have to follow my guidelines directly but i'm just saying there are plenty of ways to make a quick buck, just go out there in do it. I don't know how old you are buy there are ways to acquire currency aside from buying indie games on sale and re-selling them.

i'm really trying to avoid the obvious solution here which would be: get a job, it's how most gamers get by.

"too much effort", sigh that depresses me. it's almost valentines day, maybe sucker that oh so special someone into getting it for you?

i don't want to sound harsh or anything so please don't take it that way, i'm just suggesting solutions to your problem.

Sorry to come off as a washed out, lazy, forever alone douchebag. I'd love to clarify all of the details of my personal life, but this is and indie game fourm, and this problem originated from this simple problem, I want a damn copy of overgrowth. How i'm going to get it: who knows? So for now I'll leave it at this: if anyone has not bought or heard of a indie bundle and would like some indie games, please PM me. Thanks for the suggestions, but for now I'll stick to this.
