Black Shades on OS X 10.7

Post by cooldude » Thu Feb 14, 2013 11:39 pm

I tried to play black shades on OS X 10.7 but it said that power-pc applications were no longer supported :(

Is there any way to fix this?

This... is actually not a bad idea.

cooldude: Considering it's a PPC game, you'll want to play it in a like environment. So if you have Sheepshaver or Basilisk II or some other Os 9 emulator, you can probably play the Classic version in there. If not, I suggest you find a DOSBox as Warior suggested, considering DOSBox is considerably easier to set up, and play the windows version in there.

This advice of course assuming that the error message you described came form the Os X version which is likely to be some form of carbon app, and also that the windows version is old enough to be DOSBox-compatible. If I'm wrong, and it isn't, then you can look up VirtualBox which might also be easier to navigate.

I didn't think of virtualising it... wine works fine with black shades - 10.8.
