Black shades crash on startup (mac)

I have a 2006 macbook (intel integrated graphics) running snow leopard. I used to run Black Shades on an old macbook pro that has since stopped working, but this computer can't run BS at all. Here is the process:
>Bounces on dock like normal
>Displays "SDL App" in left corner of the menu bar (where it shows which application is open)
>Goes into fullscreen resolution
>Displays a loading bar with a weird red rectangle in the middle
>Crash!
Anybody have a solution?
