Muds are a waste of time... No offense. You should make a real Lugaru online. Oh yeah, is SOS going to be an online game? There is chat so i was just wondering...

Everyone has their own tastes, and MUDs were the original online games.
Lugaru has a chat function too.. but neither of them are going to be online.

Not realy, if its a text game trying to give the same things that 3d games give, it will be crappy. But there are things you can do with text that are i-m-p-o-s-s-i-b-l-e to do with 3d games.

That's interesting. Could You name some besides... well... the fact that our imagination is still more powerful than 3d cards?

Well, TV hasn't replaced books.... at least not yet.
3d games can never let you roleplay, untill we get to full body input suite VR, but for now you are stuck with text games.

Yes... But then we are somewhat 'spoiled' by eye-candy in modern games. You make it 3d or it won't sell. And then (I'm not a pro here) I am not sure that a text-based game can give you the same possibilities as a 'full body input suite VR'? Isn't it more like 'You are now standing at the entrance to the cave. There is a waterfall behind you, a sword lying on the grass here and a big monster there'? Then where is the freedom?

That description would be from a text game trying to imitate a 3d action game, which just won't work. 3d MMORPGs cannot have anywhere even vaguely close to the level of roleplay that text games offer.

Actually, that's a description from an adventure game. While it's fake it is just like most of INFOCOM's titles.

Yes, technicly those are "Role Playing Games", but there is very little/none roleplaying. You walk around in a graphical enviroment killing things and doing quests, but interacting with other characters in any depth at all is very rare.
