I have overgrowth, and the SUMLauncher, but do I have to place the launcher somewhere??

You don't need to place the launcher into any specific place. You can put it anywhere you want, as long as you extract the launcher .zip file.
When you launch the launcher first time you are asked to enter the secret preorder forum key and after that it should ask you the game .exe file location. when those are given then SUMlauncher should work without any problem.

I bought overgrowth off steam. how do I get the sumlauncher?
