…still looks a little blunt though. A lot sharper than the scythe, though!

Yes, the Japanese word for handle/hilt is tsuka.

It doesn't look too bad.

My only suggestion would be to make the wrapping black, and only have single diamonds of same (the white ray or shark skin) showing through along the flat sides of the tsuka.

Like this:

Note that it is actually wrapped twice - one folded one way, the other folded the other way over the top. This is what creates the diamond effect.

hmm, dont bump, people will reply if they want.
i think it looks more like a machete, the second one.
might want to work on that texture though.
if you dont mind, could you send me the UV map? I would like to have a go at making a texture for it :]

it looks good

Looks good, yes, but to be honest, I don't really think I'd enjoy having a scthye in Lugartoo...
Just doesn't seem to fit...
Maybe if a farm level appeas or something, that would make sense, kinda...
But otherwise... nah, no scythe for me.

...
But I won't complain at all if it does appear, though!

I heard that scythes were unwieldy in combat... especially if you can only swing it slowly... I mean, if you have rabbits jacked up on caffeine and sugar a chainsaw would be a much better choice than a scythe...

I second that...

Although it would be cool to see a sythe used by an angry mob of rabbits.

I third the unwieldyness of the scythe, but I don't really want a chainsaw in there... just doesn't fit in... :?

I think it would be more of a programing challenge than a modeling one, but I would really like to see ropes or chains in Overgrowth. There is a martial arts weapon, I'm not sure of it's proper name, that looks like a miniture scythe with a weighted chain attached to the handle. I would really like something like that. I found 3dmax very difficult and eventually just decided to stick to 2D, this is one of the better models I created while messing with it:

I really had no idea how to gauge things like poly-counts, scale, rigging for animation, I think thats probably why I got so frustrated and uninstalled it from my computer, well that and trying to make room for more games.
