For years now every time I've had to get a new computer, I have to re pre-order overgrowth as there hasn't been a way to re download the game without it and all I now want to do is put it on my steam account so i cant loose it again because I cant afford to keep re buying it, I just cant figure out how to get my serial key, can you guys help me out?

Once you pre-order, you can download it as many times as you want, using the same link you received when you bought it the first time. Not only that, but that link should now take you to a Humble Bundle page which will give you a Steam key.
