I started watching OG Weekly, and I instantly became a fan. Now to explain the picture! In episode 60 Silverfish tells us to try a costume-made level for Overgrowth, then adds " Anton says so". And Anton reply's whit something like " I will it ". So that's what gave me the idea to make the picture!

I especially like how it appears to be on a piece of parchment (is it? I find myself leaning on the 'computer designed' conclusion)

It's awesome. But it could be on digital canvas. I know MyPaint has a lot of excellent paper backgrounds and you can import your own to use. They look freakin amazing, especially with the awesome painting and pencils in MyPaint. Could be, but I rarely jump to claiming that anything isn't traditional art when it could be. But I too lean towards digital.
Very good job Mr. Artist, I like it!

I'm using Paint Tool Sai it's more affordable then Photoshop, and if you work around it's shortcomings it's a pretty nice program. What I did was after I finished the painting I made another layer witch I filled whit this paper texture. So I guess my point is it's basically what you said but instead of it being in the background it's a layer applied on top of every thing

Was inspired by the new invisible forcefield on the edge of the maps and made this:
