nice lol GIMP's a good program, I don't use it for drawing much though oughta learn that. my problem is always knowing where to start. because what's in my head isn't thought of in lines, it's thought of in its completed form perfect.

Fan Art

Ugh, way too long since I last picked up a pencil. Please forgive the inferior shading.

A sparring session between two members of a canine militia. The enthusiastic trainee (left) attempts to pierce the careful guard of his instructor.

Never drawn anthropomorphic stuff before. It's kinda fun.

 I hope I could draw that well. It looks good, even if you don't like the shading. I've been trying to learn to draw for a few years now, and I'm nowhere near the your level, not even the level you showed in this picture and you can probably do much better. At least I'll get to do some courses soon.

Thanks for the inspiration.

That looks really cool =)

I like how you have a mini version with figures in the upper right. Also, I'd imagine they'd at least take the tips of the spears off during a training exercise. Unless I'm just looking at that thing wrong and it's really a blunt thingy.

it is pretty blunt, if you look at it you'll see that it's rather like a cone, and the end looks pretty blunt if you look at the whole head.

I draw the little stick figures first. It helps me figure out the poses and proportions. Few things suck more then being halfway through the shading and suddenly thinking, "Oh f**k, the shoulders are uneven". Better to spot the problems before you start.

:D Heheh. You just provided your own answer. They don't take the tips off. Instead they use spears with ...(wait for it)... blunt wooden tips!* After all, they want their recruits to actually survive training.

*In addition, trainees start with cudgels before being issued with swords. The training setting is also the reason for the ribbon on the tip of the spear, it helps the trainee to keep track of it's movements.

No. I did some sprites and animations for BfW, but my avatar was done by another fellow. Well spotted though.
