Overgrowth needs bears, huge, brutal, northern viking bears.

Re: Fan Art
Noice though the bear doesn't look much like a viking to me but I still agree.
Re: Fan Art
You mean it doesn't have a horned helmet? lol, it looks very much like a Norse viking to me.
A rich one at that.

Hell yeah! Bears would be cool. Also, I thought of this a while back, and I'm sure others did too; bats. They're farking mammals, so they would be anthropomorphic, but they would be able to FLY. Best assassin evar.

Re: Fan Art
horned helmets were never used by vikings, they were however used by the battle axe people, the predecessors of the vikings in scandinavia, I mean that vikings liked to wear a lot of clothes, usually chainmail and a helmet with a tunic over the mail, possibly a cloak or fur mantle if it's not summer or if there's bad weather, though I suppose that he could be a berserker except that there's too many clothes in that case, but it's still extremely good artwork, and the cuffs and shoulder pad are admittedly rather vikingish.

Well the christian vikings had horns on their helmets, but I wanted him to be a real norse viking.Count Roland wrote:horned helmets were never used by vikings, they were however used by the battle axe people, the predecessors of the vikings in scandinavia, I mean that vikings liked to wear a lot of clothes, usually chainmail and a helmet with a tunic over the mail, possibly a cloak or fur mantle if it's not summer or if there's bad weather, though I suppose that he could be a berserker except that there's too many clothes in that case, but it's still extremely good artwork, and the cuffs and shoulder pad are admittedly rather vikingish.
And no he isn't rich, he just knows how to pillage and loot

If he's not rich, why does he have huge golden jewelry?m3nace wrote:Well the christian vikings had horns on their helmets, but I wanted him to be a real norse viking.

I really like his blocky shape, very strong-looking. His wrists seem somewhat non-functional, though. I'd love to see him in an action pose!
Random comments:
- those bracelets and ankle-things are huge
- if he's supposed to have an axe on his back, it would work better if it was hanging by his side, the shaft going through a metal ring or leather loop
- if that's supposed to be an axe-handle, it's too thick. Here's some reference images if you're interested.
- since he's got no pockets, he'd probably want a pouch or a bag on that belt

Re: Fan Art
I find it hilarious that this image showed up though, because I just read a 700 page book on vikings, and damned if a viking bear doesn't just pop on up here.

Future Vikings side with bears.
Re: Fan Art
EDIT: I'm moving this to a new thread, because I found lots of nice images. To the cavalry thread!
Re: Fan Art
I'm loving that bear, m3nace.
