Really nice interview!

Too bad that "misspelt" isn't really a word, and that it is rather "misspelled".

Too bad that he is probably English and uses the orginal past tense form of "misspell", and not the dumbed down, American version "misspelled". Also both are considered correct, but "misspelt" is older.

Also see "burnt"

Also I am American.

I find it hard to believe that so many people don't realise that "Spelt" is actually a real word in the same way "Colour" is. Most people know about colour, but surely Spelt would be another well-known british/american spelling difference?

On a side-note, it's very satisfying schooling said people about the word.

Hmm, interesting. I realised that "spelt" was a real word, I was just under the impression that it was only a type of wheat. My humble apologies mister Bunny.

Anyway, the English spellings certainly are not preferred in terms of logic. The "u" in "colour" and "favour" etc. is there in UK English because once upon a time the words were pronounced differently. In the modern pronounciations of the word it was seen that the "u" was redundant, so it was dropped. If you study etymology of the English languages, most institutes are encouraging the notion that US English is actually making the most headway in the progression of the language.

Having said that, I always spell words in UK English rather than US English when I am aware that there is a distinction.

Hmm... at least we understand WHAT there trying to say... Point of language is to create a general medium that is understood by mass groups to send messages to one another though the Medium of Speech and wrighting. if you understood that it was marshmallow the man was trying to say, then he sucseed in communicating. If you were like WTF is that word lol, I cant understand it, is he trying to preach the gosbal to me? Have I been Mormowend? than he would have failed and you were entitled to say "What the F**K was that?"

dose anyone agree with the statment in bold?

Well, considering you don't ever pronounce color as "Koll-uh", it seems strange to spell it as such.
