Freely win a free copy of Overgrowth FOR FREE!

Post by Sartan » Mon Nov 03, 2008 6:16 pm

Would you like to win a free copy of Overgrowth? Then get yourself a copy of Lugaru and some way to record it, because you're going to be showing off your best and boldest Lugaru action in slooow-moooooootion (0.75 should be fine). Debug users must set text: 0.

The creator of the best video will win one (1) {uno} free copy of Overgrowth, once it is released! No hidden costs, no caveats, not even any montagues. Those of you who don't win, it's not so bad. Your videos will be used to spread the word about Wolfire and the Lugaru world, and maybe you'll even get a tshirt. Get killin'!

Btw, the motivation behind this is that we really like the Watchmen trailer and want to try to make an Overgrowth trailer like it. Overgrowth is not ready yet, but Lugaru is, so we are experimenting. The Watchmen trailer is here for reference:

http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/watchmen/

We want to stitch together a bunch of slowmo lugaru ass kicking and cool scenes and then set it to some cool music and see how it looks.

it would be a good idea to tell us about some program that will record for us...

I want to do this, but i don't want a free copy of overgrowth, i want to buy it and support the team.
so with that in mind, don't give me first place. :D cause i know your already so tempted to...

Anyway, off to look for screen recorders...

EDIT: yes i know im always saying im going to buy Overgrowth to support the team, but they deserve the support, and the money they are asking for in return for a sweet/awesome/radical game. anyone who doesn't agree is off their rocker.

Oh and CamStudio is what im trying out right now, i'll tell you if it works well, its free too.

That Would Be AWESOME!!! (Just Like Wolfire!) :D

oh and another screen recorder, that has only a little setup and modifying necessary, is Dubut Video Capture.

Those of you interested in spicing up your videos in debug mode can strip the intrusive text off the display by setting text: 0 in your config. This is mandatory if you're using debug.

Looks like I'm gonna win. IS THERE NO ONE ELSE!?!?!?!

Just joking. I'm one of the judges, so I'm already disqualified. I expect someone to show me up though. I know I'm not the best Lugaru fighter.

If you have an S-Video port on your computer you could plug a digital video camera in and then have it record what happens on the screen, then port it into iMovie.

He used fraps. Which is pretty good except you need to buy it to get rid of the watermark and you cant record more than 30 seconds i believe.
