Website Design

Post by Viking Zippy » Sat Feb 21, 2004 12:03 pm

Have you ever thought of doing a more Apple-like website design for the Wolfire homepage? I'm on a really big monitor right now (22" LaCie), and the cutoff point looks kind of odd. The way Apple does its page is kind of centered in the middle, so it looks a bit better when you open it up on something like the Cinema display.

Ideas?

Just make your window smaller :P
I like more compact websites because they do not require a large window to view, I have a largish monitor but I prefer smaller sites because often I open up many windows at once, keep it small and elegant =p

I would have to agree about the website design.

The thing about Apple's design is that it's compact yet it looks better no bigger screens.

There is nothing wrong about David's website. It's much better than apple. Extremely simple. Tables, (excellent), Home, Games, Message Board, and Contact. What else does it need?

There is no denying that apples website is nice, but so is the Wolfire site, why change it?

The format of the Wolfire site is great, it just doesn't look good on huge monitors :?

I prefer flash-based sites, mainly the ones that take advantage of full-screen display. That way, the viewer is totally absorbed in the content of the 'site, assuming there is any to begin with, and isn't concerned with the daily life duties such as 11-page senior research papers on dead philosophers from germany that are due in 10 days.

Nietsche rules them all.
Research papers are crappy.

-Fournine, the disgusted

Post Script:
Why do I like flash? Moving parts, man! It's all about the movin' parts.
