This mod is a blood mod... but it has an option to turn off blood all together.(which the alpha doesn't officially have yet) After installing it when you are in the editor, press esc and this menu will pop up:
blood mod menu.png
The option that says "Original Blood" turn that off. All of the other options EXCEPT for the minimap, healthbar and animal running INCREASE the blood that's in the game.
Turning Off the "Original Blood" option gets rid of blood completely, but you might have to re-do it every time you enter a level.

Just joining the argument on blood and providing the real reason blood is feared.
Basically, it is part of nature to fear blood. Obviously it's a bad thing to cut yourself open. Thus your body automatically produces the hormones which cause fear or disgust whenever you see blood. This is a natural reaction and is mostly survival-based. The more you fear blood, the less likely you are to bring out your own.
I'm not particularly squeemish myself but I don't see that as an advantage. In reality, it only means I'm less likely to survive as I don't have a strong objection to blood.
I don't understand the reference to maturity though. I don't see why kids shouldn't be allowed to see gore. They likely scrape their knees all the time. By the age of 5, most kids should understand and accept blood.
Violence is a real issue that should bring up debate but blood is a ridiculous thing to attempt to hide from children.

Lots of violence stuff is made to cause emotions or feelings, like uneasiness and queasiness and fear and that kind of stuff. Causing children to feel like that is kinda nasty. So I understand the logic behind the laws.
Most kids wouldn't mind the kind of stuff where an animal is cut apart, but it's just done, and not made into some sort of gore porn. I think it'd give them quite a good understanding of things that might otherwise be hard to explain. Like death. Once you've eaten a pig you knew when it was alive...

Blood spurting out like it does in Overgrowth in over-done. As an adult I find it unnecessary and don't need it for "realism" (and much of it is not realistic anyway). We purchased Overgrowth but will have to set it aside until something can be done about the blood effects. A mod is mentioned but not how to get it. I would request a refund if I could.

You can get the most recent version of the mod here:

Though, you will first need to obtain SPF access, which you can learn about here:

You are also more than welcome to request a refund, just fire off an email to

You want a refund because you don't like that the game displays a cut throat with spurting blood and cuts with running blood?
God, you have issues!
Have you ever seen a cut? Those things bleed like hell, especially when they are as deep as they would be when you get slashed with a knife or a sword. A friend of mine once clashed heads with someone else. It didn't fly quite as far as when you cut an enemy's throat in the game, but it was far enough to freak people out. There are plenty of videos on the net to give you an idea what is realistic and what is not. Clint Malarchuk's accident comes to mind (ice hockey skate to the throat). When UFC fighter Joe Lauzon was cut in his fight against Jim Miller he reportedly hit a few people in the front rows and he pretty much painted the whole ring red (btw. watch that fight! It was AMAZING!). And that was not a cut from a bladed weapon, which currently is the only way to draw blood in the game.
But, who am I talking to. Apparently, you have a very good idea of what is realistic and what isn't.

When I saw that you had replied to this thread, I was able to guess that you'd be bashing him for having an opinion.
Not liking blood isn't "issues". It's a perfectly acceptable opinion.

Don't like blood --> Don't buy a game that clearly has a lot of blood in it.
That
should be the logical chain for a person to follow.

That's true as well, although if you don't look too far into it (it's about ninja rabbits jumping around!) the blood and violence might go by unnoticed. However, that wasn't the point I was making.
"You want a refund because you don't like that the game displays a cut throat with spurting blood and cuts with running blood?

-> that's not "having issues".
That's all I was saying.

It's not like there's no way to find out that this game includes blood. Requesting a refund for a fighting game with bladed weapons because it features blood, with countless videos showcasing just this feature, is like buying an e-book and requesting a refund because you didn't receive a paperback.

It's more like a parent buying Watership Down to his kid (who likes bunnies), but then going back to the bookstore to ask if he can exchange it after she realizes his mistake.

In any case, you CAN turn off blood with the blood mod. This argument is over an entirely artificial problem since everyone can have it their way.
The proper answer to a poster disliking (for example) blood is to simply explain how to disable it, not to belittle their wishes and tell them they're stupid. That's extremely childish behavior.
The more people that can enjoy the game the better, if a no blood option increases the user base, as it evidently does, then a no blood option is a good thing. And as repeatedly stated, it's already there in practice.

Talk about an artificial problem -- multiple people have already done what you suggested. Read the thread, maybe?

I did read it, which is why I didn't feel any need to answer the question myself. I posted to voice my disapproval of what I consider childish and contemptive behavior that alienates people for no reason.

I think they will make the "Turn off blood"for the game.
Cause when I fight with weapons I lagg like crazy cause of the blood.
