Would tree climbing be a possible feature?

Post by Pyrokwah » Fri Jul 17, 2009 3:45 am

Well I was reading the post on the front page about the pine trees, and I got the idea of climbable trees. It would make for some interesting reconnaissance missions, or some cool stealth takedowns. Also, why stop at trees? I think climbable surfaces would make room for many new options for the developers.

"We are working on a bad ass climbing system. Like Assassin’s Creed, but cooler, more seamless, and easier thanks to our procedural animation system. This is going to be most apparent in places with giant trees, cliff faces, and other surfaces."

quote of the paragamer interview, too bad that link doesn't seem to work anymore.

Squirrels and rats would be able to use their claws to climb trees as well. =3

You can sorta climb now, if you use the right mouse button when you get near a wall.
