Black Shades is betetr on a Mac...?

Post by Starrz » Sun Aug 23, 2009 1:35 pm

I was thinking how better it seemed on a Mac. I don't know why, but the controls and everything seemed better.

I can't see why it would be better on Mac. It's the exact same game.

My thinking here is natural bias which leads you to believe that the things you are most familiar with are the best.

How about you elaborate on that and tell us what the actual difference is? o:
Also please stop shouting. You're hurting the ears of my eyes.

Can't you see? It's so obvious.

A Mac...

They're all infected with it's awesomeness!

P.S.: But I should say, it's better on PC

I don't know. Everything just seems smoother on a Mac. It seems not as shaky, almost.

What kind of specs are you running on then? I doubt Black Shades is system demanding, but if you're running on a PC 10 years old, then that would be your problem.

meant to stop posting but I couldn't resist this, the tackle on the mac is better, it doesn't do any kind of auto aim or mess up your view. And on classic mac the custom levels actually work.

Really? That's weird. Maybe it is a slightly different version then. I can't imagine that they would change certain features on purpose.

David made it for mac os9 (I think) for the udev games contest, and all the others are ports by other people using the source code, for example Henry did the windows port I think, and the guy who is going to do the linux version of Overgrowth did the linux version of Black Shades.

Ah.... that makes a lot more sense. Yeah, then maybe it does control better. Considering it was made by the creator for the Mac.

Also I have noticed that it's impossibly hard to shoot in the PC version at least. I can't even make it past the second level because the aiming is so hard.

No, no, aiming is damned hard on the mac also.
And actually, I love the aiming system it uses. Really neat. Shooting really requires skill and thought rather than a crosshair thump in the middle where the gun will always hit. =D
