How about the ability to express your opinion on the mechanics early on, possibly changing the game forever?
Preorders usually get you bonus content, because you get the game at the same time as others. Here you actually get access to the alphas as soon as you preorder. If nothing else, it gives modders more time to get acquainted with the game, which means there will hopefully be several armor mods when the game is finished.
