On the Fence. Also I'm new, Hello.
On the Fence. Also I'm new, Hello.
I've only found out about lugaru a little while ago and the only reason I found out about lugaru was because of the humble indie bundle. Oddly enough I found out about the H.I.B threw another indie game I pre-ordered (I'm a giver).I found Lugaru incredibly interesting. I loved the combat with the crazy, simple funness of it all. Soon after I figured out about Lugaru I found out about overgrowth, I've soon gone mad with continues blog checking, video watching etc. I have to say this game looks well worth the 29.99. Although I'm a little confused about it, so I've made this thread to ask you kind people about the game. One thing that's bugging me is, what can I do in the alpha right now? can I play as a bunny? I know the game isn't done yet, but I'm just wondering if they gave us a character to play with. I might ask some more questions, those two are just the biggest two. Also I would like to say that I love the company behind this game and am privilege to have the opportunity to help this company out with my delicious money. Any company who's goal is not to make money, but a fun game. should win the lotto! or at least unicorn, maybe a narwhal.

Currently, the alphas have
1) a level editor allowing you to add objects and items to terrain, or combine them into new parts. Here's Foothold made by the user Hale:
2) rigging and animation editors. If you can script, you can add your custom animations to the character. If you can't script but you understand a bit of it and ask for help, you can still replace existing animations. So far most people have only used the existing rabbit guard model and rig, but one guy did successfully rig a whaleman model.
3) You can control a rabbit that can, so far, walk, run, jump, go into ragdoll and do some flips. I might have forgotten something, but fighting isn't in yet. Some kick animations exist, and in the alphas where there's a second rabbit following the first one, you can script it to go to ragdoll mode if the player does the kick animation and they're close enough to each other.
The player, movement and enemy scripts can also be edited, but I don't think anyone has done anything complicated with those.
