No the part where Turner and Jack are talking about Jack hiring guards from Rocky Hall.

I might not copy it word for word but here it is.
Turner: Hey Jack
Jack: Hi Turner! Could you do me a favor?
Turner: What is it?
Jack: I hired some guards from Rocky Hall the other day. But they haven't come.
Turner: Lazy B****** I'll see what's going on the next time I'm in Rocky Hall.
Jack: Thanks!
End Dailogue.

Thats not bad language, it's "Mature Themes".

And bastard is not a bad word.

1. A child born out of wedlock.
2. Something that is of irregular, inferior, or dubious origin.
3. Slang. A person, especially one who is held to be mean or disagreeable.

Well, by many terms today it is a cuss word, just thought you might want to know becuase if ESRB game rating system is going to rate it (I believe you said earlyer that this would be competing commercially) unless you want some sort of "strong language" title slapped on you might want to avoid using words like that. Just a suggestion.

Please try to refrain from comments like that =p
Starcraft used "Strong Language" according to the ESRB, it got rated T.
Considering the level of violence in Lugaru, I don't forsee "bastard" raising the rating a whole lot.

Screw the ESRB. Story and gameplay come first. If we think that the game would be enhanced by blood, violence, sex, language, etc. then we are going to put it in whether the ESRB likes it or not.

bviously kalexon has some sand in his vagina.
If I weren't a male pre-teen I might have thought that was offensive, as it is I just think it was totally unwarrented.

That's fine. Just be aware of the people who are going to play the game.

strong language comes with strong stories.
wouldn't you curse if somebody raped your wife and killed your friends?
I wouldn't make it too "oh, well.. my wife has been raped and killed. my friends are dead. I'll go eat a banana." just cause you want it to be childfriendly, which it is not whatsoever. That would just make the whole thing more lame. you should not protect the 3year olds by making the game contain ballons and suns with happy faces, cause this is not a 3year old's game.

sooo... but that's just my opinion. :)

(cursing, blood and violence only makes it more believable... I don't think you'd like to se strawberry gelly (or what ever) sqeeze its way out of your arm if you got it cut off... nor would I think you would say "let's go have a banana split! Rabbits love bananas!"...)

edit: sorry for messy post.

I'm not saying that I don't agree that some one wouldn't start using strong langauge if that happened but remember this at the very beggining of the game, so it didn't really make sense (no offense to the game designers) It just seemed to come out of the blue *shrugs*
PS: Oh, and he was talking about royal guards, wasn't he?

if L2 is going to be a comercial game, will it still be possible to do texture swapping and that kind of thing? in other words, will all the data still be as easily accessible as it is now?
