This is ridiculous...

Post by Precastwig » Sat Jun 19, 2010 11:42 am

There are too many spam bots and not enough mods to take care of it.
THERE SHOULD BE MORE.
Im not saying i should be one........ (Wink wink)
But there should be at least one.

And I just returned, too. Just finished my final exams, and now I've got enough time again to mod the forums.

I'm here, and I catch spam when I see it. Sometimes Freshbite beats me to it, and sometimes I beat him to it. The fact of the matter is that we both would like to think we have lives over the summer, and that we need sleep. We can't monitor the forums 24/7.

Our powers, so to speak, are limited.
We can ban people, but can not remove the links they place in their signatures.

Please, report such spam. Most of the what I encounter is advertisements through signatures. I tend to check all the new posts on the Forum but I can not cover that which I do not see.

The following is the entire first page of the Moderator Log.

As you may see, both me, BlackHole and Blorx fulfill our deeds fiercely.
It was a pretty sight I woke up to on the 19th.

The "User IP" section for each log is shown, but has been removed.

Woah, Freshbite, EU hours have it tough. I've hardly seen anything and I come by the forums most hours of the day at least once.

Indeed, that's a nice sight. :)

Courage is not fearlessness, but the mastery of those fears and the ability to overcome them.

Yeah, a third of all the actions performed on the first page was done on the 19th.
There were 5 new Members that morning, and 4 of them were banned. :]
