lol there should xD, although i'm not sure if that would go in sync with the attacks you do and the reversals you can pull off, try doing a reversal on a whaleman punch xD

Yeah, when you reverse his attacks, it should be like, dodge his hand, run up his arm while his fist is stuck in the ground (Cliche I know

), stab your knife/sword/giant bad-ass stick into his side above his arm, swing up and pull/stab out his eyes or something!

i like the idea of totally ripping off shadow of the colossus for a single fight in the game, use similar music and everything, perhaps this is something only modders could get away with.

In other news, I sincerely hope the Whaleman is in Overgrowth, if only as a brief cameo (eg some beach level where you see him swimming around for a short period of time) Or maybe he could make several brief cameos, ala Half Life's G-Man- though I reckon he'd be slightly more conspicuous.
