Lugaru on Intel Mac
My first reports of running Lugaru 1 on an Intel-chipped Mac (a Macbook Pro) via Rosetta are that it runs spectacularly.
We're all excited to see how Lugaru 2 will run, but that's still a ways away.

A 256 mb VRAM card would be suitible for a game that includes complex geometry, real fluid, and high-res foliage. Then again 128 would be more appropriate in the minimum graphic card department giving people with 256 meg radeon X1800s(not counting the XL's) or 512 meg Geforce 7800 increased frame rates.zip wrote:256mb VRAM?Lugaruman100 wrote:Predicts system requirements for the macintosh version....

Yes, but the ATI 9700 is a pretty old card, giving old cards a lot of RAM doesn't improve their performance much. It just makes them look like a great deal "I got a 256mb GFX card for only $$$!!!"Lugaruman100 wrote:A 256 mb VRAM card would be suitible for a game that includes complex geometry, real fluid, and high-res foliage. Performance might very well be Optimal with a 256mb card, but if thats the minimum system reqs..
They are up to X1900 and GF 7900 now btw :p
For a game wich will almost assuredly be available for purchase online. I find that suprising. Even if it is only available hard-copy do you really expect it to be a big enough game that it will need a DVD. As far as cost effectiveness goes, unless you are going to be using more than 2 CDs it isn't worthwhile to make it DVD. Of course it is a moot point since basically all computers which meet the other min system reqs will have a DVD drive.Lugaruman100 wrote:DVD drive Required.

So you think that I said by adding more ram to a card such as a ati radeon 9700 Lugaru 2 or one of your favorite games F.E.A.R would run nice and smooth? NO! , my statement was a card such as that would be able to run it on low settings ! The ATI radeon 9700 may be pretty old but the card has technology that can run games that require features that I said above. On a side note you got cards like the radeon 9800 (which is pretty much a slighty more powerful 9700).zip wrote:Yes, but the ATI 9700 is a pretty old card, giving old cards a lot of RAM doesn't improve their performance much.
If thats worse case scenario it will be 256 at minimum. As you can see in the next 10 months, games with great graphics may or will require to have a 512 meg card just to run it on the highest settings as well as high frame rates.zip wrote:Performance might very well be Optimal with a 256mb card, but if thats the minimum system reqs..
If it's to be sold in boxes or DVD cases Lugaru 2 will require a DVD drive. But since this is a indie game and David made Lugaru 1 a shareware title, DVD drive required would not be needed for Lugaru 2.bob wrote:For a game wich will almost assuredly be available for purchase online. <-- Wicked sick, check it out guys I'm the "Postman"
Hey, since this is going to be in stores (Nationwide, or just local?) would there be by any chance, maybe a way for us to get a special edition box copy. Just suppose, some kind of 'opening event' or a 'special order' method that will help us get our hands on a signed copy of the game with the whole crew and what-not? That would be sweet.
Wait, is that asking too much?
