Alternate endings to the default campaign

Alternate endings? I was scrolling through the map folder one day when I saw the campaign maps (start#). I decided to load them to see what they were like, but when I loaded what I thought would be the last one, I came up with a completely new map.

Start26 is the last level of the campaign.

Start27 is a dialogue within rocky hall in which Turner rules over the island, and Fiver points out a village that is hosting a protest.

Start28 is a dialogue within rocky hall in which Turner says that the protest won't become dangerous, and the guards approve of it.

Start29 is a dialogue in a new map where Turner talks to the bunnies of that village and kills them.

Start30 is a dialogue within rocky hall in which he says he killed all the protestors and the bunnies disapprove.

It looks like Start27 is an alternate ending, and then Start28 and Start29-30 are branches of this alternate ending, one where Turner is a competent ruler, and one where he becomes mad with power. Interesting...

I bet a bunch of people have seen this already, but I'm pointing it out anyway.

So, was David planning on using these? Like a random ending, or depending on difficulty or something? It's kinda cool but it doesn't make all that much sense. I guess he went through three stages before deciding on the real ending.
