UV Mapping

i tried to unwrap the sword in blender and it originally was like this Image

then i unwrapped it and it went like this Image

Please help

I can only guess, but it looks like you only selected specific vertices and unwrapped them with some automatic unwrapper built into Blender. And that unwrapper messed up the mapping.

Unwrapping is only being applied to the currently selected vertices.

Which unwrapping method did you choose?

I just selected all vertices in edit mode and then selected just plain unwrap

If you want a really good and efficient UV map, you'll have to hand-tweak a lot of stuff. As you can see, the automatic unwrappers get some things wrong.

To achieve better unwrapping, it is advisable to at least work with UV seams.

Divide the faces into groups of ones you want next to eachother, then unwrap each group on its own.
