Hate to break it to you guys, but GLFighters is a seriously unfinished game. It's unbalanced, unpolished, and almost unplayable. Honestly, David would have to do a lot of work to make it a decent game, and I don't think David has any desire to go back and work on it at this point. David, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Trust me, when Lugaru 2 is finished, online GLFighters will be the last thing on your mind.

I think GLFighters Online would be a good idea, but I don't think it'd be a worthwhile idea, at least I know David probably doesn't think so.

I think GLF Online would need to be more or less like a side-project add-on done by someone other than David...kinda like the way mods are done...and this is assuming that anyone would have the patience to do that...I mean, enough people are protesting for Super Smash Bros online and this would be pretty much the same idea...
