Can't make new profile

I got the demo for Lugaru and I tried it out. I had previous experiences with lugaru, but I didn't have it on my laptop. I downloaded it and then I opened it. Everything was normal, until I clicked enter. (Not the button on my keyboard) It should say "NEW USER" but it didn't. All it had was "BACK". I tried looking this up on the forums and wiki, but there was nothing. It seems no one has had the same issue. I emailed humble inc. and the person that helped me brought me here to put it on the forums, so I made this account so I could get to play my game. Oh yeah, I though the demo was messed up so I bought it. Same problem. Any suggestions???

What operating system are you running it on?

Ah, I'm a windows guy, sadly(even if I can't stand windows 8 )

You'll have to wait until a mac user notices your post and can help.

You may want to hang out in the wolfire chat room and ask for help there.

When you hit ENTER, you should land on a map screen. On the upper left, it should say what your user's name is. On the lower right, there should be a "DELETE USER" button. If it's there, then you can delete the user, obviously.

If your user thing is broken for some reason, then you can backup the current Users database of Lugaru safely like so:
Make sure the game is not running
Press CMD-Space, this opens Spotlight
Type "terminal" without the quotes, hit the first suggestion
In the new terminal window, enter this:

Code: Select all

cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/Lugaru/Data/
This brings you into the directory that contains all temporary Lugaru data.
If you don't know how to type the tilde, you can safely copy what I put there above, and paste it into the terminal, and then hit Enter.
Now you move the User database to a backup:

Code: Select all

mv Users Users.backup
Now you can press CMD-Q to quit the terminal.
Start Lugaru again like you normally would. The game should generate a new blank Users file. This should enable you to make a new user in the game, like you'd expect.
