Another Lugaru Crash Thread

Hello there, inhabitants of the Wolfire Games Forum.

I seem to be having an error where, upon starting Lugaru HD, the game immediately crashes.

I have a registered copy and Windows 7, as well as an NVIDIA Graphics card. Any ideas out there?

Check if it runs in windowed mode.
For that, you have to edit the shortcut for starting Lugaru, on your Desktop or in your Start menu.

Here's how to do that, it's easy: viewtopic.php?p=184552#p184552

Does it also crash in windowed mode?

Yes.
I'm not too sure what it is. I was able to run it once, but then it started crashing. I unistalled and re-downloaded it, and it still seems to crash...

Do you get a crash report? Or does it just crash to desktop without an error?

Maybe Lugaru's settings are broken. Try deleting the settings file, it should be in the main folder of Lugaru (I haven't got it installed on Win7, so I can't check where it is, maybe it's actually somewhere in Documents or so). When you delete the settings file, Lugaru generates a new one for you.

When you run the first time after having deleted the settings file, run the game in windowed mode.
If it works then, that means that the settings you've applied on the first run were problematic for the game.

Do you have a peculiar aspect ratio?

Press WindowsKey+R, enter "dxdiag", run the OpenGL tests in there. Do they work?

Can you post your machine specifications?

As it turns out, all I had to do was delete the config files.
Thanks!
